This company appears to be a fraud. They have a rental car partner that fraudulently charges for non existent damage (3 out of the 5 cars in our group have been charged significant amounts where none had any damage). And then after months of trying to get Azores Getaways to help, they washed their hands of it. Kickbacks? No way to know. But beware! Too bad because the island is beautiful.Months later, they still ignored us. Awful. Scam. Run.
Overall, the trip was fine. We did a 7 night stay in Sao Miguel. Our flight that we booked was changed from a great flight to a terrible flight that ruined our whole trip because of jet lag. We had to be up for 24 hours traveling and Azores Getaways didn't care at all. There was no consideration that I NEVER would have booked the package if that was the flight schedule. Couldn't check in for flights or get seat assignment. They never tell you that you need to contact all the vendors yourself and let them know who you are so they can contact you and help you because the agency won't help you. It was so inconvenient and I would never ever recommend booking with them. Use their trip for inspiration if you are just one of those people who need help with booking travel, but just book it yourself. So much easier and way less hassle. If you expect service with your booking just don't bother.
Lovely trip, lovely island. More cows than people, so the pace is slow, the countryside beautiful and the bread and milk products delicious. People are friendly and most speak at least a little English, so getting around and shopping are very easy. Loved our hotel. No negatives about this trip.
